Richard Alan Fisher, 80, of Garden Grove, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.
Richard was born on January 24, 1946, in Millis to Harold Clark Fisher and Mildred Elizabeth DeLappe. He proudly served three years in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran, carrying the lessons of service and dedication with him throughout his life.
Richard worked as a skilled carpenter for the Garden Grove Unified School District until his retirement. He was known for his strong character, deep determination, and relentless work ethic—qualities that earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Richard is survived by his loving wife, Paulette; his children, Kyra, Wayne, Michael, and Michelle; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest pride and joy.
Richard was an avid history enthusiast and had a deep appreciation for firearms, a passion he enjoyed sharing with others. After retirement, he became highly skilled in leatherwork, crafting his own holsters, belts, knife sheaths, and other handmade pieces with remarkable precision and care.
He will be remembered most for his stories and his jokes—his humor never failed to entertain and often brought a helpful perspective to any situation. He was a wealth of knowledge, always willing to lend a hand or offer advice. Those who knew him could rely on him without hesitation.
Richard was a Baptist Christian whose faith in Christ guided his life. His legacy of strength, wisdom, humor, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know and love him.
