My husband Greg Morrissey passed away on February 27, 2025. Greg was a kind and generous man. He was very creative and was a ceramic artist. We lived in an art community where he had several Gallery shows and sold many of his pieces. Greg was a beloved Elementary school teacher in the Anaheim City School district for over 23 years. He taught art to his students with after-school programs. He believed creativity is important for children to learn, not just the fundamentals. He had many adoring students and would be recognized when at local markets and restaurants by former students who would get excited to see him. He retired from teaching in 2013. Greg and I met at Knotts Berry Farm when we were both working there. He worked on the log ride as part of the opening crew and stayed there while in college. After he joined the Army in 70 and served his time, he returned to college. He received his bachelor's degree in education at Fullerton State College and his teaching credential. After joining the Anaheim School District, he went back to college and received his master's degree in Educational Administration. Greg worked for the Angels baseball team for 14 years as a gate captain. He really enjoyed this since back in high school he was very involved in sports. He was captain of the football team and played varsity baseball and ran track. Greg enjoyed many things, watching war movies, studying American and European history, and watching Jeopardy. He loved classical music and would listen to it while driving. Greg was a Vietnam veteran, which caused him to be disabled and eventually contributed to his passing. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gregory is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ada Morrissey. Greg is survived by his wife Nancy Lee Morrissey of Santa Ana, CA; Son, Mickey (Adam) James Morrissey of Santa Ana, CA; Son, Brian Charles Morrissey of Vancouver, Washington; Daughter, Leslie Ann Morrissey of Santa Ana, CA; three grandchildren, Joseph Allen Morrissey, Robert James Morrissey, and Elizabeth Leann Johnson; brother, James Everett Morrissey, sister-in-law Gwen Wirta Morrissey; and two nieces Sarah Morrissey and Rebekah Morrissey.
