Glenda Irby passed away peacefully September 26th, 2024. She was born April
11,1945 to her parents Frank James Brooks and Mildred Irene Goldsberry Brooks.
During her high school years, Glenda met James (Jim) Adderson Greene, whom she
married after graduating High School. In the following years, they were blessed with
four children, Deborah, Rebecca, Kenneth and Teresa. Glenda was a beautiful and
loving mother dedicating herself to her church as a preacher's wife, teaching Sunday
School and youth group, and always the church pianist. She played passionately for
all services, weddings, funerals and private concerts throughout her life.
Glenda was preceded in her return home to Glory in Christ Jesus by both her parents,
her second husband, Clifford Irby and her youngest loving daughter, Teresa, a true
ray of sunlight to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Glenda is survived by her brother and best friend, Franklin Brooks (Bette), her sister
Wanda Brooks, daughters Deborah Shasha (Tony) and Rebecca Balian (George),
son Kenneth Greene; grandchildren Christina Torres (Juan), Brittni Wareham (Jake),
Pamela Bacon, Nicholas Shasha (Amanda), Angela Shasha, Nathaniel Greene,
Autumn Balian and Natalie Bushman (Austin); great grandchildren Jacob, Ryan,
Emily, Samantha, Piper, Ryder, Wren and Sutton; nephew Bryan Brooks (Heather),
niece Jillian Scoggins (Brian) and grand-nieces Carly, Makena and Stellaria and
grand-nephews Jack and Sterling.
Glenda was dedicated to God, her Faith, Church, family and endless circle of friends.
She was a selfless servant who dedicated her love, passion and talents of piano and
crafts, such as sewing, baking (making wedding cakes and elaborate custom birthday
cakes). She made it her life mission to listen to others and help anyone in
need. Glenda was a living example of the love of Jesus Christ, always honoring and
worshiping Him in all she did. Her unwavering faith was always expressed and
witnessed to all she met and knew. As we grieve the loss of our beloved Glenda, we
take comfort in the knowledge that she is now with her Lord and Savior, where there
is no pain, sorrow, or tears. She will be greatly missed and cherished always and
forever,,, until we meet again!
